Persian Gulf pulse: Activation of the Strait of Hormuz

April 2, 2026 - 1:9

LONDON - The world is facing a major crisis that cannot wait, or it will escalate to a level that disrupts all international relations. Therefore, Trump does not have the luxury of time to make a decision to end the war as quickly as possible, if it were in his hands.

Otherwise, we are heading toward a major energy crisis, that will affect all countries around the world. It will also have negative repercussions on the American economy, even if it does not depend on the Persian Gulf oil, because petrodollars from this region are reinjected into the cycle of the American economy.

Trust has been completely broken between Iran and the Trump administration, something that will not return. Just as aggressors came across the seas to practice their arrogance and aggression while negotiations were underway, they must now return and pay the price for their actions, sooner or later, without negotiations.

This is the logic of justice absent from this world, which Iran calls for, the very reason war was waged against it. When the American side overturned the negotiating table and launched a surprise attack, negotiations had been focused on the nuclear file. Now, since the start of the war, the situation has changed.

The issue has become the war itself and the conditions for ending it. This is now Iran’s priority. And this is no longer related to the nuclear issue. Now, negotiations are not about pre-war conditions. The focus has shifted to energy sources and supply chains through the Strait of Hormuz.

On this basis, messages are exchanged through indirect negotiations, either during a truce or during the war, not just a ceasefire that could be exploited for renewed betrayal during talks. There will be no end to the war unless conditions are met.

The aggressor must pay the price for its aggression and be compelled to submit to this outcome willingly. This is because the cost of continuing aggression will be greater than the compensation required for the initial act. This is the equation the Islamic Republic is trying to impose, so that the aggressor regrets its actions and does not repeat them.

The “magic word” in all of this is the Strait of Hormuz, which had not been actively used over past decades. Now, at the time of this aggression, the moment has come to activate it, not in favor of the aggressor, but as the most powerful weapon against it.

This is the strategy recognized by leader Ayatollah Sayed Mojtaba Khamenei, becoming a guiding principle for Iran in managing, organizing, and maintaining control over the strait, forming a framework that can automatically influence global energy routes and serve oppressed peoples.

The victory for Iran was twofold, despite the severity of the strikes and loss of lives: A victory in resilience, and a victory in adding a new, highly influential weapon that had not previously been considered, one surpassing all others. It is geography: the Persian Gulf, the open seas, and the strait between them.

One of the major consequences of the global energy crisis is that it is too significant to allow Israel to willingly decide to continue the war. The United States will make that decision. One of the hidden outcomes is that the Israeli occupation entity becomes a detail rather than a decisive player, even a burden, not only on the Western capitalist project that created it, but on the entire world.

The Strait of Hormuz, at the mouth of the Persian Gulf, has become a weapon more powerful than all others in its impact.

Now it has been proven to the world that Iran has prepared and acquired the necessary capabilities and weapons to protect this strategic waterway, making it the primary strategy, and its enemies themselves have provided the opportunity to implement it.

This development could elevate both Iran and the world to a new level in the management, organization, and structuring of international and economic relations, toward a more just global system.
